About Divi
Divi is one of the most widely used premium WordPress site builders released by EleganThemes. They have been in the business for more than 12 years now and have a very loyal and huge community of more than 880K premium users.
Over the years Divi evolved from a premium multipurpose WordPress theme into a powerful site builder and generated a whole ecosystem around it. Even now, it surprises users with every new release (the latest major version is Divi 4.1)
About Elementor
Elementor is a WordPress page/site builder launched in 2016. Currently, it has more than 5 Million active users (free version) and it’s expanding very fast. It’s a powerful builder with a multitude of advanced features.
Elementor became widely used in the last few years and has seen a tremendous adoption rate. It’s easy to use for those who don’t have advanced coding skills and provides extensive customization options.
My take on Divi
Divi was one of the first WordPress themes on the market with an exceptional design for that time. Over the years it became a fully featured site builder with an impressive set of templates and extra features.
While it’s more difficult to learn and operate and has a set of legacy issues like average page load time and excessive use of shortcodes, it’s still a nice option for website owners.
It looks like the CEO – Nich Roach and his team do really care about their clients and are listening carefully to their feedback. They have addressed most of the problems and are constantly improving Divi.
Here are some major products and services released in the past years:
- Divi theme builder
- Deep integration with WooCommerce
- Divi Marketplace
- Divi Theme improved performance
- Divi Cloud
- Divi Teams
- Divi Code snippets
Additionally, the next major release Divi 5.0 will move away from shortcodes and will be rebuilt and based on new core technologies. This looks like a sustainable plan for its future.
Once you know how to get the most out of it, you’ll most probably stick with the product. It just offers so much and it makes sense to use it with the built-in tools.
My take on Elementor
Elementor is a relatively new product and has a different approach when it comes to its functionality and presentation.
It’s still a serious threat to the default WordPress editor which is limited. This weakness allowed Elementor to become a powerful website builder which expanded fast.
It’s not ideal though and has its disadvantages like reduced performance, limited support and transparency, average designs, etc.
In any case, the team is very active and has high expectations, thus always releasing new options and making Elementor better. It seems like the clients appreciate that and remain loyal to the product.
They have also acquired a hosting provider and launched a hosted solution called Elementor Cloud, meaning that they still focus on growth.

Why Choose Divi Builder?
If you need a well designed website, prefer customizing premade templates and need guidance from the support team, then go for Divi.
Divi is a great premium builder for WordPress sites. It’s packed with powerful features, beautiful layouts, and offers plenty of customization options.
You can’t use it with other WordPress themes, but once you join their ecosystem, you’ll find everything you need to launch and manage a great website.
Why Choose Elementor Pro?
If you like building websites from scratch and want a granular control over every aspect of your site, then Elementor Pro might be a great option. It’s one of the best WordPress site builders in the market.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on your needs. Use Divi if you need appealing themes, excellent support and unlimited site usage. Use Elementor if you want to build stuff from scratch and have full control over your website design and functionality.
Divi doesn’t offer a free plan, but you can test its live page builder before buying it. Elementor provides a free version, so you can install their free WordPress plugin and play around with it.
Most of the page builders are not specifically built with SEO and performance in mind. However, you can still optimize your site for speed and have a great SEO, regardless of what WordPress builder you use.
If you deactivate the Elementor plugin, you will lose all the design customizations you made. Your textual content and images/videos will be kept, but the layout will look different.
If you deactivate Divi builder you’ll end up with lots of shortcodes that you can’t use with other themes. You will lose all the design customizations you made in Divi.
There are lots of compatible themes that work well with Elementor. However, I prefer Astra theme, because it’s easy to use and customize, fast, SEO friendly and has a decent price.
Obviously, it’s Divi theme. It has hundreds of premade templates, is highly customizable and is reasonably priced. Check the price with 10% discount.
Technically you could use both builders, but it makes no sense as Divi is optimized to work well with their proprietary builder. Also, Elementor hosting is not compatible with Divi builder.
It’s one of the first multipurpose WordPress themes in the market with a myriad of features and lovely designs. The team has been constantly improving Divi and the support is excellent.
It’s free and relatively easy to use/learn. Also, Elementor includes lots of complementary options like theme builder, form builder, WooCommerce builder and many more.
I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your
website. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you
hire out a developer to create your theme? Exceptional work!
Thanks, I’m glad that you like it. Actually, I didn’t hire anyone to create the website and made it by my own.
